I'm only seeing 10k PPD coming out of the machine on the update sites. Something up?

I actually don't know. I check the rig everyday. The PPD ranges from 14k to 18k per fahmon. Those new w/u's are killing the PPD though. The rig hasn't had any issues since it booted up. It has been folding non stop, with no errors, and no lock ups. I'm currently having the same kind of issues with my PPD. I have 2 8800GT's folding, and my buddy is folding with his 9800, that's 3 cards. This should be getting me 15k per day, I currently get 8k-10k per day. I was just assuming it was because of the new w/u's. When I run the w/u's, fahmon shows that the PPD on that card is 2400+ instead of 4800.

Sometimes when I check the rig, 2 cards are crunching those new w/u's. I would assume that these new w/u's would be getting done through out the day. If this is the case, that would be the reason behind the low PPD.

Yeah fahmon says I'm doing 10k+ but stats say 5-6k. Think it's the new WU's.

No biggie I'm It doesn't really matter what the points are, It only matters that the work and therefore by extension the research is getting done.

Right I forgot those new units. They're killers on PPD.

I was reading somewhere (can't remember where of the top of my head) that each GPU folding maxed out a core on the CPU. They had a picture of one GPU folding with one maxed out CPU core, the other cores were nill. Could a dual-core CPU be slowing down the rig?

See how much CPU usage is happening with one, two, and four GPU folding. AMD Quad-cores are not that expensive if this is the case.

I found something interesting, with dual-8800 or 9800:
Quote:
System 4: That was the source of our high consumption because it was using two ATI video cards (Radeon HD 4870 and Radeon HD 4850). We removed the ATI video cards and replaced them with one GeForce 8800 GT and one GeForce 9800 GT. We also replaced the CPU from a Phenom 9700 to an Athlon X2 4600+, which allowed us to save some watts, as we are not going to run the SMP client. We also replaced the OCZ ProXstream 1,000 W power supply with a Zalman ZM-600HP unit. Here was where we saw a huge difference in consumption and performance. This system as it was before was consuming 430 W (309.60 kWh, USD 37.92) and producing a daily score of 4,738 points and a monthly score of 142,140 points. After the changes, power consumption decreased 41% to 254 W (182.88 kWh, USD 22.40) and our score doubled, going to 9,485 daily points or 284,550 monthly points! Our points/kWh index increased from 459 to 1,555.
So it appears that two of the GPUs are not counting at this time? The CFP should be hitting 15-20k per day per the vid cards in it. Of course, there is the new units, and I'm not sure when the article was written they may have been using the old ones? Do the numbers drop if 2 GPUs were stopped? Are you using the intel/nvidia -optimized work units, or does that really matter with GPU folding?

I'm new to F@H, so I may be tossing some odd ideas out of what may or may not really be wrong. I just feel the system should be cranking some higher numbers.
