I just installed a 12cm fan, it comes with the standard 3 pin power connector which I have connected to my power supply.
__________________It also has this extra wire, its got the letters EOS on it and I have no clue what its for??? I'm thinking it sometype of speed control wire, but where do I connect it? The fan works without this wire being connected, so I'm assuming I don't need it.... but I'm worried the fan might not be pushing at 100% of its capacity. Does any one know what this extra connection is for?

Post a pic or link us to the fan. Describe it better? How many pins, wires, and how big is the plug?

I guess eos doesn't mean much.
I'll describe it as best as I can, the extra wire is white in color, its actualy two wires beside each other that attache to a round shape connection that mesures maybe 1/4 of an inch thick. Its a single pin type connection in the form of a cross. I was actualy able to find my FAN on googles... here is the weird connection I am talking about.

E-something O-Something Sensor.
Pretty sure it measures case temp and spins faster at higher temps, slower at slower temps.

Sorry guys,
__________________The fan is a evercool 12cm, aluminum fan. If this thing truly is a sensor, should I place it in the warmest part of the casing to make certain the fan spins at full cycle? Where should I place it? right next to the CPU heat sink?

It doesn't look like a sensor to me. I looks like a small adjustment pot for fan speed or something. You can put a screwdriver in it and turn it.
