Thumbs down NZXT Nemesis Elite Front Panel Replacement

A few months ago, I bought a nzxt nemesis look-alike from eBay, which at the time, I didnt know. When I did find out (from here) that it wasnt the original case, I emailed nzxt saying that I bought one (from ebay) and when it was delivered, the front panel was damaged. I was fully expecting to have to pay for it and for the shipping to the uk as well. However, I got a reply saying to give my address and they will send one out to me free of charge. Freebie!

21 days later (yesterday), It arrived. And so I start going about taking off the tacky non elite front panel and attatching the new one. Problem. Some of the push pins on the back of the front panel had been broken off (I don't know how, as they are really quite hard to break off). That didn't matter anyway, as I found out that the metal frame of my case was a good few inches to narrow, and didnt have any holes to put in the push pins anwyway. So what I came up with was:

1. Saw off about 3-4cm off the front of the old front panel (so I could use some superglue and attatch the new one to the old one, and use the old ones fixings)

2. Saw off the middle bit where the switches were (in the way =])

3. And attatch with superglue, and attatch to the case.

Ok, well I'm about half way through this process, and, because i'm not exactly good at sawing (and the only saw I have to hand is a beefy 4 foot one), it may take a while. I need to go out and buy some sandpaper and a smaller saw.

Anyway, down to the problem.

I connected the new font panel up to my mobo to see what it would look like (red 'nemesis' on the front looks so cool), and there was no post 'beep' to say that everything was ok. I checked everything. Graphics card, extra usb ports, RAM etc. I was about to trash everything and have a front panel stuck on with cable ties, when I thought of attatching the old front panel speakers, which I hadn't hacked off yet. Success! Everything booted up perfectly.

I found out that there wasnt a speaker lead coming from the front panel to attatch to my mobo. So I want to ask, is it supposed to have one? What can I do about it?

=]
