This is an old thread but I just ran across it looking for some cases on google and feel it deserves some more recognition. That is just a beautiful case.

Yes it is. I briefly considered selling it if I could sell the Skulltrail then thought better of it.

I know. Had you sold the case alone, it would be sitting in my home right now. Hopefully i can find some in China later this year, when my wife and i go visit a friend of hers. If i can find a few, do you think they would sell well over here (if i bought a couple extra)?

Good luck: they are (or were) manufactured in Japan...no where near China...lol

I bet a few enthusiasts would jump at the chance to own one.

I thought that too, but I happened to find a distributor just outside of Hong Kong that still has a decent supply of them, so it may not be too hard. I contacted Soldam's USA division (odd that they have one on their website, but no American distributors) about 6 weeks ago and they forwarded me over to them. I hope they have some still when i get there. I may grab a few just to sell here, i am sure some people would want it.

I would purchase an Altium for sure. The pearl finish is striking. The bigger the better.

And thanks for staying on the trail...I know it took me over 4 months after I found one for sale just to get it shipped and in hand...that was one long season of waiting.

You will be the first person i contact when i get over there. I will be there for a month or so. Thankfully OCN is not a blocked website, since it has not political affiliation. When i talked to them, they said they had nearly every later edition model in stock. So hopefully i will be able to get a few. I wonder what the cost would be to add it to my cargo on the plane....

My case came from Singapore via a friend of a friend who was flying over on JAL. Not sure about what the limits are but they did accept the rather large box for the XR-1.

I hope you show up tugging a pallet of them

i am saving for some right now. By the time i go over there i can spend at least 3-4 thousand. Thankfully i am going before my baby girl is born, after that no spare money for me. That is of course, if people are willing to buy them at the cost to get them and ship them. Should be far less than i found. The few people in Japan that i know can get them here for about 1100.00 shipped. That is just too much for me, for one case. 500-600 i can handle, but double that is crazy.

If only i could have a pallet of them....

With the demand i have seen here in the states by some enthusiast, Soldam could have stayed in business if they had a regional distributor. Even at their current cost i think they would have sold well here.
