So what's the low down on your total drive space?

That's a bunch of hardware you've got lined up there.

(BTW ... disgusting, sick, and beautiful ... I want one but refuse to drop the cash ... and that is, if I could even get my hands on one)

The exterior is just so subtly wonderful to look at ... all that black ... the uniform rivets. Yummmmmm. Spartan design work FTW.

As an aside ... and if you have the equipment for it ...

Could you run a tethered temp probe into the cases middle? I'd be curious to know how that fan set up works ... as in the internal case ambient compared to room ambient.

Post more pics as you can.

I'll see what i can do.

Totall storage is not that impressive. 4 x 74 GB Raptors adds to about 230GB in Windows and the two 250GB drives are independent at this time. So somewhere around 700GB. But it's fast I have an external HDD (500GB LaCie) and I am in the process of purging onto that drive all the duplicate files. I will likely Set up RAID0 with the 250 GB HDDs and Once I have that set up I will see about reconfiguring the Areca to RAID0 just to se what kind of bandwidth I can pull.

Sorry about that...I get carried away.

I have had a lot f rigs and a lot of cases and it sometimes wears off--that new love for the new case. But I still feel th same way about this case as I did when I opened the box.

There is NO window--no LED fans to look at--no doors--it's the ANTI-case. And I have no desire to alter or modify it. It just does its thing sitting about 2 feet away on my desk at eye level. I look at it constantly when I am not working or posting

I've looked at every inch of it so much that I now have found every tiny scuff, even the ding from when I first took it apart and the door fell over when my foot hit it. That would be th only thing I wuld like to do...somehow erase that almost imperceptible crease.

But even my stupid damage to my new case in the very few minutes smoehow just made it even more exclusively mine...

What can I say...it's the perfect case for me...almost intimidating...my Nemesis. Knowing that no matter how high my skill level may become one day I will still never have what it takes to make this level of case: it requires industrial capacities I cannot imagine.

Default Getting Busy inside the XR-1

Hai Guyz

I pretty much threw my rig together in the Black Knight when I first got it Iwas so jazzed to have the case.

But tonight I totally reworked the beast and tidied the cabling and remoujnted the fans better and added a Zalman fan controller (SWEET) and a Lian Li side blower and reworked the loop with a modified 3-barb reservoir (eliminating a Plextor to make room) to better handle the dual outlets from the Stinger.

The only thing I am not totally Groovy with is temps are higher..which means I must not have got the block right this time...I am seeing 29C in PC Probe instead of 20C..Dammit But ont he right side I dropped the mobo temps by the way I remounted the mid case fans...

Let me get the pics uploaded so you can check it out

Wink You got it

Here's how the case looked and has been for a month or so.

The caddy...

Midcase fans...these will get stood off to stop the hideous noise fromo the blades being to close to the frame.

This doodad is the Silverstone fan controller. it's really neat for modding : yu can tuck it anywhere.

There's the Silverstone rheostats that drive the doodad.

My Uber GFX

This is what started this whole rework: a very tasty fan controller by Zalman.

I cannot tell you waht a joy this case is to work in...simply the best I've experienced.

Caddy all laced up and ready for insertion...

I tidied some of the cabling...

The caddy doesnot priovide for mounting the drives plug in so this is all I could do.

Midcase fans remounted on longer screws with nuts to stand them off from the frame.

Gotta keep this part prety neat because the Plextor and Rs go in next.

And that cmpleted the cable mission.

Next: replumbing the loop...

That HDD stack has to be pumping out so much heat! Good thing you have an external cooler for the CPU.

Default Getting Wet...

I drilled and tapped a res for a third barb.

That's a Stinger by fstfrddy. A real nice piece of metal...

I custom mixed my own color to match the hue of the case. I got it spoot on too. I used 2 ounces of Pentosin, 2.5 quarts of Dasani, a ounce bottle of Alphacool UV Red and a Primochill Blood Red Dye Bomb. UNder UV it glow a rich purple and in regular light it matches the chassis of the case.

Fishnets

And UV of course...

I can live with that But it was lower before this last seating of the Stinger.

My baby looks so pretty naked

Yes...I am a sick puppy.

Eliminated the stupid T-line and add some length so I can mre easily work on the case in the future. I also inserted the PSI gauge outside on the Xterior cooler where I can see it through the window. I get a much more direct reading now and it keeps the loop neat.

The lines are easily parted for service. I assigned intake and outake male female and male 3/4 fittings so there is no chance of reconnecting incorrectly.

It only took a few minute to drain the loop enough to pull th block and sever the lines. I can also worm the block through the opening inthe back i I wnat to keep th loop intact.

I ran it in on a spare PSU until it stoopped foaming which was maybe minutes. I never drained the rad (the lowest part f the sys) so aeration was not an issue.

The Polybraid holds up much better to dye and pentosin than the clearflx: which becomes cloudy and crappy looking after a month.

I like the red in the lines...it matches the case and looks very interesting outside the window.
