Default Apevia X-plorer built in fan controller

I have this case:
. It's an Apevia X-plorer.
When I got it and built my system, I hooked up the built in fan controller to the 2 80mm fans that came with the case and for whatever reason could not get them to change speeds.
Here's a link to the manual (PDF) and I followed the instructions to the letter.
Also, I just got a Thermaltake fan http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2211700&cp=2032061.2063031.206 3071&pg=3&parentPage=family]
and it has 2 connectors to it. One is a standard molex which is self explanatory. The other has its own wire (1) and a 3 pin connector like you would plug it into the mobo. Will that fan work on my controller?

RMA it. Apevia or Newegg should send you another. Or something.

lol
or something.
what do i need to show to RMA it? I really don't want to have to disassemble my computer to wait for an RMA. I dont even like the case that much. Maybe just sell the case on craigslist and go buy the one I want.

Not worth it. My fan controller on my old aspire broke early on too. I just replaced it with a vantec fan controller which can control a lot more wattage on 4 knobs. It's been going strong for many years now.

Their fan controller is really bad at holding back the voltage so it's best to just replace it since it will just break again.
