Thanks for this pictorial!

There are too many good cases to get nowadays. I guess you can't go wrong with any of them.

MY initial thoughts on the case are a little mixed...

It is an ideal case for people who don't wannt go out and start cutting big holes into their shiny new case.
I see a lot of people water cooling in Antec P182's and lets face it, the case isn't made for water cooling.
I see this case as a water cooling friendly P182, same material, both have superior cable management to any other case i've worked with and the overall look if quite neat.

On the downside theres a hell of a lot of plastic but the thing still weighs an absolute ton because of the steel(???) chassis on it.
If they'd made it from aluminum and then made all the external panels from plastic I bet I could throw the thing a mile.

This is where I would put it:-
Antec P182 - King of aircooling
Cosmos S - Ideal for water cooling for people scared of a dremel / jigsaw
Lian Li A70 - King of water cooling for people jigsaw friendly

Double post but theres no point me making a new thread just for these pictures.

This is how I tackled the water cooling in this case:

PS: The board isn't staying in, thats just my text board for measuring tube lengths!

Exclamation Cosmos S RC-1100 Capabilities

Marcus,

I am new to modding, yet no stranger to PC's. I'm not looking to cut, weld, or paint anything. I've been in the market to build a PC for over 7 months, and for some reason I continue to wait for newer GPU's, or CPU's to come out.

Well now I'm at that point...ready to drop a couple G's. I would like your expert opinion..or anyone's for that matter regarding several things: case size and what I'd like to put it in, and more importantly the cooling of these pieces.

Case: Cosmos S RC-1100
Motherboard: EVGA 790i Ultra
CPU: QX9770 Socket 775
Memory: Crucial DDR3 @ 2000mhz
GPU: NVIDIA 9800 GX2 x2 SLI (EVGA SCC Edition, clocked to 675mhz, 2100mhz)
HDD: Have yet to decide on RAID or a combo w/ Solid State
Optical Drives: Have yet to device
Power Supply: Real Power 1250watt

I have yet to purchase anything. The more research I do, the more hesitant I become.

My question is, how should I viably cool this rig? Water cooling is my last resort (I have nightmares of my tank exploding onto my rig), but open to the idea if it's the only way. My other question is if you have any idea whether or not the GX2 cards will fit in the Cosmos S...I've read some that say yes, others that say no.

Believe that's a good start

eric:

dual gtx's will definitely fit because ive seen 3 way sli in this case with plenty of room, so you are good to go.

You will be fine with air cooling. If you plan on overclocking to the absolute max, then you would need water cooling.
