Default new case, new mods. paint help

so i'm getting an older version of this
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...8&Sku=ULT31824
thats not as pretty and doesn't have as many features. its gonna house my socket a for now. and i was thinking how many cool mods can i possibly do to this. heres what i came up with so far. paint the whole inside, cd drives and psu. blow hole and some wire management mods like holes and other things.
i dont really know what kind and color of paint to use. and any techniques for painting the inside of a case are more than welcome. my plan is spray paint the case and paintbrush the psu and cd drives and anything else small. but what two matching paints should i use? and of course if theres any suggestions for something cool that i haven't thought of thats within my talent level i'd do it.

why not tape off the parts of the psu and cd drives you don't want to paint and spray them as well. Brushing will always leave strokes, and unless you want a textured look you should just tape off/disassemble the parts and spray paint everything.

hmmm that makes sense but will the same spray paint stick to plastic as well as steel? what kind of paint do i need? i'm not going for perfect i'm going for a good effort. and i dont need to prime anything right? the only thing that sucks so far is that the motherboard in true asus fashion is puke yellow.

oh. best to take out all components before painting. as for painting psu, not sure. might be best to disassemble that too b4 painting. i dont know the finish OCZ uses on their PSU. might be hard to put a coat of paint on there if theres a shiny finish *shrugs* cd drive. u can probably take off the front face plate and paint it itself. theres some tabs along the side u can just pop off. the tray panel thing comes off pretty easily too. slides off i think. spray painting it works fine.

i used primer for everything. didnt want different shades of the color. anything to do wrong so i primered it and then painted. thin coats. and follow drying time. must be FULLY dry before applying another coat. also, let it sit for like 2-3 days before putting components back in. 1. have the spray paint smell go away b4 u sit next to the computer and get high. 2. so it can be dry and not come off if u try to do anything haha

spray paint i used was rust-o-leum professional enamel spray paint i bought from home depot. really big cans. probably could pull off using only 1 can depending how many layers you apply.

as for color. i dont know. mine is black and white. if you decide to go two-tone, be sure to cover the parts you dont want painted. use painters tape and newspaper or something. works well.

good luck! pm me or reply here if u need further help.

i finished the first coat just now and i like the look. the only thing i can see as a mess up is the paint is a little blotchy i guess might be the word but only noticeable real close. gonna put the second and probably last coat on tomorrow or the next day. good idea with taking the cover off the psu. i'll post some pictures soon. i used the same paint. and no primer.
