Default Need some help.

Just got my 690( gonna post some pics soon) I tried taking the front panel off but it doesnt seem to want to go. It says in the manual just to grab the bottom and pull but when i try to pull it doesnt seem to give any and i start to feel the plastic/metal bend. I notice that there are some circular things that expand whent he panel is on and ive tried clipping those together with plyers but the panel still wont budge.
