Default Standoff Screws for 690

So i try putting the gold looking mounting screws for the motherboard in my 690 case but there are two holes that i cant screw the gold screw things in. Ive even tried using needle nose pliers to just crank it in.

I also thought that you had to have all the screws that on the mobo tied down to the case

You don't have to have all of them, though the more would make it better has it be fully secured.

By screws you mean the standoffs right? Like these right -
