does that removable grill on top not have any filters in it? I thought it did and was told it did. Sorry for the misinformation. Would be easy to throw something in there though.
It's still a much finer grill than the opening on top of the 590.

The reviews that I've read (some even comparing the two) pick the CM as the winner. I was choosing between these two and the Thermaltake M9.

I ended up getting the CM, and I really like it.

I am in the process to swap my CM690 with a CM590 , the CM590 has better airflow and is even more solid due to the full height ( bottom to top of the case ) 5.25 drive Bay , I need only to open another hole at the bottom of the CM590 to install a 140mm intake fan like CM690

In my opinion the CM590 is better ,
