Woot! Just got home from a 14.5 hour day in the kitchen and to my surprise there's an Antec 1200 in my living room. Early Xmas from the parents!

Hey everyone.
Starting a new system build. Will be getting it piece by piece since I can't afford it all at once. The first component was the case. I have never modded a case before, actually, this is the first "nice" case I have ever built a system in! But I have some time and I have always wanted to try some modding. Here is what I have in mind so far:1. I want to hinge the side panel; 2. I want to paint the plasic front and top panel plasic pieces. Not too stand-outish, just a subtle contrast like a dark grey; 3. I would like to paint the fans chrome; 4. I want to cut out a square in the MB tray for easier access to the base of the CPU heatsink, like the Coolermaster HAF; 5. I'm thinking about making a piece that will cover a lot of the front mesh out of some thin steel and cutting out a dragon silhouette. The look of the cover would be a little like a mod I saw of the Antec 900 where the Antec drive bays were replaced by Silverstone bays with individual covers. There would still be ample airflow because the cover will extend from the bays a 1/2 inch or so and there will still be about 1/2 uncovered all around it; 6. I'm also looking at adding some switches to control several lighting possibilities: stock fan lights, added cold cathod lights (still blue), UV light, and a white light. The idea is to be able to change from a range of possible lights from no lights at all to all lights at once and everywhere in between. 7. All the cabling in the case will be sleeved in UV blue. 8. I'm also toying with the possibility of modifying the top panel to give it a sleeker look, something like the top of the 900 only a little smother. Thats about it for now. Anyone have any suggestions for further mods or ideas for the ones I listed? Here is my case for "proof" ![]()
