If expense is no problem

Cheapier design but good airflow and noise level for the price.

I used these in my other case, good fans, but not quiet unless you use a fan controller and turn them down a bit

I recommend these too. I have five of these (three with blue LEDs, two with none). They're incredibly quiet for the speed, they're quieter than my 1900 RPM Scythe Slipstream fans. They push way more air compared to my old Antec TriCool fans, which have a 2000 RPM/79 CFM rating. The Antec TriCools are also louder than all my other fans. They only spin at 1850-1900 RPM according to my fan controller, while the CM R4 series 2000 RPM fans spin at 1900-1950 RPM.

Thanks for the link! I'm going to order two of those. Not three, since the top 230mm fan closest to the drive bay cage draws air out prematurely, and doesn't help as an intake for me. I haven't looked at the part number on mine, but they spin very slow and according to the CM website, the ATCS 840 comes with 700 RPM/110 CFM/19 DBA 230mm fans. I'll check the part number after. They don't seem to push much air either.

I just replaced the 2 top 230mm with the blue LED versions, and also managed to squeeze on an OCZ XTC memory fan over my memory. Also got my clear door in also, love it! That and the 7 Cooler Master R4 blue Led fans I put in the other day. Its looking better now

I also just ordered 2 of the gtx 275 Twin Frozrs OC from MSI to replace my GTX 285 SC. Quieter and more powerful than the 285 with about the same money spemt. Maybe its still not too late to send back my Accelero Xtreme GTXS 280 for a refund. Will give it a shot...lol

Once I get the new cards in im gonna post some pics. I still plan on painting the XTC cooler and the fan shrouds on my TRUE a royal blue to livin it up a bit.

After that, gonna mod a 60mm onto my vreg heatsink, and maybe put some LEDs in there, AND am thinking about getting a blue UV acrylic sheet and replacing the window on my door if it doesent get in blue enuff for me.

Default So many fans to choose from

During the course of researching fans I must have spent hours reading articles and forums on the subject, and there are certainly a lot of opinions on the subject. Wouldn't it be must easier if there was a one size fits all solution to the best case fan? lol
You've definitely given me some ideas on different fans, which I'll have to take a closer look at when I get home.

Honestly with the way this case is setup, the stock configuration is incredibly negatively pressurized for lack of better wording. with the three extra 120mm fans in and with the expansion bay fan box not on, if you put a piece of paper near the venting holes in the back you can clearly see that air is being drawn in from there. The front 5 1/4" bays are the same just not nearly as much.

With that in mind, spending ridiculous amounts of money on fans for this case isnt really needed, however long life fans of good quality and design are definitely nice to have and gives you piece of mind.

You must be thinking about their 120mm fans. The 230mm fans can spin MUCH slower to push that much air, and therefore make much less noise than 3 120mm fans pushing the same amount of air. I have all 3 of the large stock fans on full speed via direct molex connection, and I need to get REALLY close to hear them; what I do hear is very low-pitched, a nice sound.

This would be the best option, pretty close to the best one-size-fits-all case fan if you don't have a fan controller; any Panaflo *1BX if you do have a fan controller.

Does anyone in this thread also own a Cosmos S. The dilemma lies in the 230mm case fan found in the ATCS 840 + HAF932 Vs the 200X230X30mm side panel fan found in the Cosmos S. According to Coolermasters website the ones found in both the ATCS and HAF are rated at 700rpm and produce 110cfm, where as the one found on the Cosmos S is 150cfm @ 900rpm. Now looking at the picture found here:

The part number shown on the fan located in the picture when zoomed in is the same exact part number found on the 230mm fan located on the top and front of my ATCS case. This leads me to believe that A. FrozenCPU has made an error in their description, or B. Photographed the incorrect fan for that listing.

What is incredibly strange is that I cant find Coolermaster fans online for sale in this size, even on Coolermasters webpage. FrozenCPU is the only one I have found that displays the part number on the fan. I find it hard to believe that they would take a fan from an ATCS and then take a picture for it and use it for a listing on their site.

The fact that I cant find them on the CM site is strange, and being that I cant find it on their site, why would they have two of the exact same fan with a 200rpm difference for sale that noone has?

EDIT: after looking at the part number it appears that first 5 digits are related to size, so the picture of the fan at FrozenCPU.com must be wrong, the listing is for a 200mmX230mmX30mm fan, but the P/N on the fan says that its a 230mmX30mm fan

Cooler Master is where i bought the fans. The fans are listed to be the 230mm fans for the HAF and Cosmos S. It says nothing about being compatible with ATCS. I quick email, and i confirmed they will indeed fit. Now i have 2 blue ones

I have a quick question. By hooking up that "thingie" with a fan to the back area of the case that attatches to the GPU card area, does it drastically lower GPU temps? And does it lower overall case temps as well by exhausting hot air out the back. If i do put a fan on it I want to make sure to get a super quiet one. Maybe in the area of about 45-60cfm should suffice.

I do know this for certain because I have tested it on my case. The case cooling is setup for negative pressure, meaning there is more air being exhausted than brought in. This is supposed to be a more efficient method of cooling according to some people but also allows air to enter into places other than the intake fans, in our case the expansion bays and the venting next to them. If you put a piece of tissue paper near the vent holes with your case running you will notice that the tissue will be sucked towards the venting.

This means that if you do not use the included exhaust box that comes with the case, and utilize a slot cooler type gpu, your gpu will exhaust the hot air from the case only for it to be sucked back in through the vent, which is quite counterproductive. My advice is to use the box if you use a slot cooler type gpu as you will most likely notice a slight temperature difference.
