Well, situation is, i realised i'v got 2 of those, so i put them on HDD bays, as you can see on pics.

Should i swap one of them with rear fan?
In the HDD cage you'll get better GPU temps, and the CFM rating isn't much better than the stock rear fan so you can leave it how it is I guess.

maoriii, the HAF 932 side panel does not fit the ATCS 840. I have seen a similar mod done before. Look below.

THIS IS NOT MY ATCS 840

I might do what you have done. I definitely will not cut out some of the side panel and make it mesh, since that kills the clean and fancy look of the case. How did you get the 230mm fan on there? You'd get much better results by using a few good 120mm fans instead, the 230mm fans are crapola.

Yeah, GPU's are cooler 1-2C. I might replace them due to noise tho. No effect on CPU What about bottom fan, any good? Heard its quite contraproductive.

Go nuts with the zip ties and channel everything into nice straight lines. Also see if you can get that auxiliary molex connection run up behind the tray next to the 24-pin power. I know it'll seem impossible but that's how my old Enermax was with its 24-pin connection and I ended up getting it through.

This past month I finally built myself a computer, WOOT. I used the ATCS 840, EVGA E759, i7 920 C0, Prolima Mega's, Noctua Fans, Corsair Dominator's 1866.

Anyway, I was having a bit of an issue getting my temps where I wanted them and I added a 2nd 230mm CM Fan to the left side of the case

Now, before I start hacking up my side panel I thought I would ask for some advice here. My thinking is to cut my side panel and install a dedicated 230mm CM fan, similar to what was done with the HAF.

Anyone here attempted this mod? Anyone know if the HAF 932 side panel will fit on the ATCS 840. Once I added the side fan and closed the case, all of my temps, VREG, NB, GPU, CPU, dropped by ~5c. My GPU's now idle at 47c and my VREG is now at 27c. Very worthwhile IMO.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and ideas.

Welcome to OCN! Added to the list. As for the question about the HAF932 side panel fitting on the ATCS, no, it most likely won't, since the ATCS is slightly larger than the HAF932. You'll have to hack something together, like boredgunner showed above.

boredgunner - The 230mm fits perfectly in this location. Didn't even have to touch the CPU Heatsink. Put the top of the fan in first, under the Heat Sink fan clips and then the bottom just sits on the Corsair PSU. I am not using the stock 230. I bought a 900RPM 230MM fan from SVC. I have 3 more on the way. Going to replace all of them with the 900RPM model. It really moves a lot of air.

I think you are right about the look of cutting out the side panel.

Chunky_Chimp - Thanks for the welcome, I am glad to be here.

I plan on using those fans too, I hope the 150 CFM isn't too much BS. Thanks for the tip, I'll try it out since I have a normal ATX PSU down there too.

Sheira, a bottom fan will draw air from outside of the case giving you positive air pressure, but that also shouldn't effect CPU temps

Ya, I will go ahead and replace all 120mms with the ones you guys suggested here.

On a side note, I have another small issue with case. Iam getting weird noise from the case, when the left side panel is up. It's like in 2-3secs intervals. (woooof--silence--woooof--silence) When i remove the left panel, everything is fine. Even when i touch the case while side panel is up, i can feel the preasure.

Got everything put together finally, and I know i told yas i was gonna post pics....well...i got a wild hair up my arse and decided it wasnt pretty enuff for viewing. Soooo....on monday i get in a boat load of stuff from performance-pcs.com. Going to TRY to sleeve a few wires and such and install a UV light kit. That X-fi cable is in the way of everything cause its not long enuff to hide, so im gonna try and sleeve that or at least heat shrink it. Then ill post pics before and after. THEN, ill try to put on the blue UV side panel I ordered. One of these days I may even paint the interior, like I should have done in the first place.

Also, I have the bottom intake fan on the bottom of my case as well...I dont really see a drop in many temps. With the exception of the GPUs that is. air comes in and is then thrown by the fans from the drive cages into the GPU's. Cooler by about 4-5 degrees for me. Also, the biottom intake is where I can hear most of my noise coming from. That and the KAMA bay are my 2 loudest sources.

+1 rep for this. I have the same resonance effect, though it's not annoying, and was wondering what was causing it. Many thanks.

What i did is, i swapped 2 top fans, so the noisy one is closer to HDD area. I decided to turn that one off, becouse it doesnt do any good anyway.

The vibrations are still there, but very minor ones, hardly noticable. I guess thats normal.

----

btw. anyone know good online shop in Europe, where i could buy a windowed side panel?

I don't think they're normal. My case has vibrations at all. Is yours screwed in enough? Even when I ran both top fans I had no vibrations.
