Getting my 840 this week. Going to be my first build.

I chose the 840 over the HAF 932 b/c of the dust filters and more sleek look.

Just got the bare necessities to get things rolling, and will be ramping it up from there.

I will follow with some pics in a week or to so y'all can see what this newb can do

new to the forum. been doing a tremendous amount of research concerning water cooling. i've scoured the web and been unable to find any information on my question.

i'm interested in purchasing this tower. i was wondering if there was clearance for a tfc360 in a push/pull situation (62mm(rad), 50mm(both fans), and 62mm(dual shrouds))? total in mm is 174mm. is there any chance someone could measure from the top of the case to the top of the mb tray for me?

thanks in advance!

I have a Feser TFC 360 with 3 panaflo 38mm fans and got 20mm till I hit my board. In your situation for push pull, you will be able to use the TFC 360 rad with 25mm fans only. There will not be enough room for shrouds.

Anyone else a little bit disappointed with the tolerances on some of the exterior panels? Overall, I love the case, but for $200 I guess I was expecting everything to fit together perfectly, or at least for perfect symmetry on both sides. For example, there is a gap on the right side panel where it fits against the front panel that does not exist on the left side, almost like the right side panel is a little smaller then it should be. It's a minor annoyance, but for $200 and all the superlatives that were used to describe the build quality, I wasn't expecting this. I guess when it's all made in China, you can't be too surprised over things like that.

Besides that though, and from a pure feature standpoint, the case is more or less perfect. Everything works as advertised, and the sliding/removable motherboard tray is the probably the best thing I've ever seen in a case. That's a feature (along with the hole beneath the CPU area) that should be standard on all high end cases from now on. Also, what's the verdict on the optional fan mounts? Does it make a huge difference to add that extra fan to the bottom or is just extra noise for minimal gain?

Yes, I noticed this on mine, as well. I did manage to put enough strength behind the right panel that there's only a very small gap now at the top that thins out toward the bottom to the point where there's NO gap at the bottom; even at the very top the gap is not large enough where any air actually seeps into the case at that spot.

I will find this out personally very soon (birthday on Saturday; if I don't get more fans then I'll have extra money to overnight them).

Also don't forget to fill out your system specs in the User CP via the Add System link on the left side.

EDIT: The side panel window is now available for purchase at the CM Store!
