Default MicroBTX motherboard in an ATX or MicroATX case?

A friend of mine has a Dell Dimension c521, and needs a power supply upgrade in order to run a 9600gt he recently bought. I advised him that it was probably easier to grab a new case while he was at it, since he would have a problem finding a power supply that would fit in that case. I then find out that his motherboard is a Micro-BTX, which I hadn't even heard of previously.

Will a MicroBTX motherboard fit in an ATX or MicroATX case? If not, are there any MicroBTX cases that allow for a standard sized power supply?

Just out of curiousity, does it mount in the stock case btx style (upside down)? ATX and BTX are interchangable, an atx mobo mounts upside down in a btx case.

I'm sorry, but i've got nothing. I've never seen a motherboard like this. It wouldn't fit a standard atx or micro atx case. Or even a btx case, for that matter.

....that's mBTX.... It would fit in a BTX case. Why wouldn't it? BTX flips the mobo and moves the CPU to the front.

It won't fit in an ATX/mATX case since the mobo is inverted.

Really? it seems like the expansion slots are on the wrong side of the cpu? I always assumed that btx was just inverted atx. Is this wrong?

Looks like it would be hard to find a good case for it. I am in the same situation with an extra mobo I have. No way to put it in a case.

He has a 9600gt, but his power supply isn't enough to power it. I believe he said it was only a 250watt. If it isn't possible to throw it in a new case so he can use a standard power supply, would it be possible to get a better power supply that will fit in that case from somewhere?

*sigh*
This is why I wish everyone would stick to the standards.

That's untrue. There are "BTX style" ATX cases which just flip the motherboard upside down, but referring to them as Btx cases is a mistake.

Are you certain that the PSU wouldn't take it? What kind of processor is he running in the dell?
