Default Another Antec 900 question :)

With some help from my friend, i think i have finally found a decent motherboard.

This is my first time building a PC so all the new hardware goodies are a completely new ball game to me.

About 4 years ago my neighbour who was a real techy guy game my my first PC. By todays standards it was a peice of crap, heck im sure it was considered a peice of crap back then too lol.

Every now and then he would give my some old PC parts to mess around with and ever since that ive grown up with all the OLD PC parts.

Basically what im getting at is all this new stuff ive never seen in my entire life.

Anyways, back to my question

I took the top plastic part off my Antec case. ( the one that holds the 200mm fan)

And there is about 5 cables which drop down from the top part.

I beleive they are the USB, Firewire cables which connect to the motherboard.

Then there is a couple cables which are connected to an LED ( assuming its the power on light) which have a two pin jumper type connector

This is the mobo i chose: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813131367

Basically what i would like to know is how can i tell if i can connect them to this mobo?

I see all these connectors at the bottom of the mobo and it looks really confusing lol

Thanks for reading!

Only one of those cables are for LEDs. It's for the HDD activity light.

Now Asus supplies a Q-Connector that makes it simple to connect those pins to the motherboard. The other two connectors is for the power button and reset switch. Those are labeled just as the Q-Connector is. Polarity does not matter, even for the HDD LED.

If you are still having trouble refer to your manual. It has a great description on how to connect them.

Thanks for the help guys!

I think ive finally got it all figured out.

I just noticed that all the USB/fire wirecables have dirrerent deadpin loactions on them.
Im sure i can just look at the connectors on the mobo and see which correspond with the cable.

Thanks once again
