so in your opinion, the performance is there right? i'd like to know if it's worth it in practicality as well as looks....i don't mind spending the cash for flash but i want it to make tons of sense and also be future-proof

Definitely go with haf-932. Has amazing cable management, more space, better cooling, quiet and overall for its price is amazing. It will fit E-ATX to micro ATX (correct me if im wrong there) and has better cooling options. For that extra amount of money you could put it into something else to improve your rigs performance or 120mm fans for the Haf-932

Looks amazing , I was looking at the Raven2 for a new build, but got concerned by the available space for a large graphics card: The GTX 285 is 10.5", and fits comfortably in your rig -

But I wonder how much space there would be if say the 5870 runs about 11"(???) and what a potential X2 might run to.

With a conventional case you can lose a hard drive cage to open up a chunk of space, but I can't see a similar option for the RV02 if ATI or nVidia were to release an absolute monster*

*Though of course if they did so there would be issues with all manner of cases which might wreck the sales, so logic might prevail and they wouldn't go too nuts. It does make me think twice though, what's the absolute max available space there for a card? If you don't mind me asking?

See, I removed my hard drive cage to add better air flow, more room for cards, and because it was very ugly.
I just slapped my hard drive into a floppy bay and no one even knows it's there

Here are some cases you just can't ignore at $200:

1. Silverstone FT-01BW
(don't forget to read the specs for this case in the link provided)

2. Antec 1200

3. Lian Li PC-50

and here's what I'm using (kinda outta the OP's budget):
Silverstone TJ-10B-W
