Keyboard Modding Guide:

WARNING!: This will void your keyboard's warrenty and possibly ruin the keyboard if you make a mistake.

Parts needed:
1. E.L wire found at http://www.xoxide.com
http://www.xoxide.com/5ft-aqua-elwire.html AQUA wire
http://www.xoxide.com/5ftgreenelca.html GREEN wire
http://www.xoxide.com/5ftredelwire.html RED wire
2. Screwdriver
3. Keyboard
4. Hot glue

Step One:
Dis-assemble your keyboard, and get the part that looks like this

Step Two:
Drill holes between the keys like you see in the picture. Make you use a small enough drill bit that you don't damage the keys. You can either drill just on the main part of the keyboard or you can go to the NUM band and through the HOME,END,PAGE UP,PAGE DOWN, INSERT, and DELETE keys like it did. Make sure you have enough E.L wire though. Also drill a hole up by the cord that comes out of the keyboard so you have the power cord of the E.L wire running out of the keyboard.


Step Three:
Run the E.L wire through the keyboard and use the hot glue to glue it down. Glue inbetween the keys not on them! Don't use to much glue, because if the glue protrudes then it will push the back off the keyboard and the keys won't work. Make sure the glue is flush with the back of the keys.


Step Four:
Put the keyboard back together and turn it on. Make sure everything works. If it doesn't take the keyboard back apart and MAKE SURE the glue is flush with the keys. That is probably the problem.

When you are all done it should look something like this


For all of you who haven't worked with E.L wire before, it usually comes with a 4-pin molex connector, and i just ran it down to my computer and pulled a Molex out of my case and attached it to that.

Where does you keyboard get its power from? A battery because if thats so you could just use your keyboards power source and put your E.L wire into that. Or "infuse" them.

The only thing I think you need to inlcude in the guide is where to plug the wire in after it leaves the keyboard. Stuff like, wether it plugs directly into a Molex plug or if it needs a power pack, etc. This would help people who have never worked with EL wire. Thats all I see lacking in the guide, well that and a few mispelled words. LOL.
