Default CD Drive Drivers Compatibility

I just bought a new DVD Burner and according to the manual i need to uninstall the drivers i have already installed for my old one(typical). Im just wondering since i have 2 different drives will there be a compatibility issue. I still want to use my old one but i just could'nt burn dvds with it.

As long the jumpers are set correctly (i.e. slave or CS) the drives will work like a charm.

They should be plug 'n' play as well unless you have a lightscribe drive or something. Good luck.
