im really not sure what laptop, but the one ^ suggested is good.

but to have go-anywhere internet, the only real option is the slot(pcima(?)) internet cards from cell phone carriers like Tmobile and Verizon. the cards can access internet anywhere, but are like 200$ plus u have to pay a months subscription.
unless ure willling to pay alot of money, the only anywhere internet is going to be your wireless WiFi

For a decent gaming computer you're going to have to spend at least $1400.

My HP laptop has an IGP 9200 128MB that runs BF1942 great on highest settings, if you want get a custom HP made with the integrated 9700 128MB and it should run most things you throw at it. However I think they only let you choose from Intel CPU's I'm not sure.

Also Muffin and Xavier have these really hardcore laptops that have AMD64's and 128MB 9700's and cost roundabout $1600. Xavier has the American version called the Hypersonic Aviator (www.hypersonic-pc.com).

Sorry, I couldn't get a hold of a price quote for those Aviators but I think Muffin's was something like the equivalent in pounds to $1600.

For anywhere internet, I would suggest using some of Hawking's products. I have the $39 high gain antenna on my computer and it picks up wifi from the whole neighborhood. It has the highest gain of any antenna on Newegg that I've seen (15dB compared ot standard 2dB). The only problem is finding an adapter for a notebook that will support a reglar antenna like on the PCI adapters but Hawking sells adapters with 6dB antennas for $40 here If you want the slower 11Mbps model you can get that on Newegg too.

That way you should be able to get internet assuming there is an open data network around you somewhere, which in cities there often is.
