Years ago I had winamp. It was a DECENT player and I kept it...but then I found that it destabilized my system even after the updates. It kepts on causing me problems.

I removed it and never looked back again.

The problem with WMP is that it doesn't expose enough of it's controls/statistics like WinAMP does. Makes it near useless as far as output plugins go.

Although I will say that the WinAMP UI is far less intuitive than WMP's UI.
