Question choices...all the confusion

Now with all the talk of blu-ray vs HD

I know the pro's and cons of each but i'm wondering what dvd drives everyone is running. I am going to be purchasing a new one because mine has bit the dust and will only read cd's. I've been on newegg and other tech sites read good and bad reviews on a bunch of players but just want to see what everyone is choosing to run and if there is a heavy lean towards one company or another

Phil

try and get one with HD as well Blu-ray one, that way you're safe. Nobody knows for sure if both will be staying or going. But if I were you, i'll wait.

It's okay, i would say 99% of us here use DVD drives, doesn't matter which one. There are thosand different type of DVD drives, but if you're worry about the problems those DVD drives are having, i would recommend Samsung label as they're top quality stuff for me, but yet again, everyone have their own prefers.

okay does processor/motherboard have any effect on which one may work/not work. I know it's such a broad spectrum i don't see why it would i'm just trying to learn as i go here.

it shouldn't do so, it's all drivers, those people who have problem in the link you sended seem to be the driver issues, so the DVD drive should work well if have all the latest drivers for it.
