G5 II: 1000 Mhz USB Poll Rate (adjustable in software)

G5: Weights, textured surface, much larger tetrafluorolene feet, Braided non stick cord (this is a nice feature)

Regarding the mouse wheel, I still find it too high but they have smoothed out the rolling motion. Still not a fan of the tilt wheel feature in games but I can live with it.

Regarding accuracy, with the new super size feet, higher DPI and insanely higher USB Poll rate, this one is a keeper.
I'm glad you like the new G5. Just want to point out some things. I still own the origianl G5...

G5I, same DPI, same size feet, same DPI settings, same cord. The improved wheel is cool (my skips a little, but not enough to hurt my gaming) and the new laser reader head sounds good to. Sounds like you were a victim of early G5 software, cause from what you've said the G5II only has the reader head and button changes over the origianl. The skipping was fixed with 1) faster polling 2) software updates

Again, glad you got a mouse you like

Is the older G5 firmware update able to provide 1000mhz polling?

I ask because that was what I was looking for in a new mouse. The logitech G9 was a huge dissapointment (unless you have pygmy hands))

Yup. I have the option of 125, 250, 500, and 1000mhz polling rates right in setpoint.
