mouse stoped working in vista HELP
i have an acer laptop, and i have been using a Targus laptop mouse. it has been working fine, but for some reason it wont work now. vista "has problems" finding the driver. the red optical light is on, and when i hold a button down it does that "duh-dunt" sound meaning i plugged in new hardware, but does nothing. can anyone help me please?

try the mouse in another usb port or another computer.

bios settings? hmmm. arg, why cant vista just work right? is there any hidden mouse features somewhere in vista that keeps it from working (had a problem like that with my speakers once)

Mine worked fine straight out of the box. If it isn't working on different ports, perhaps you need to get drivers for it somewhere? Either that or something to bypass the touch pad, since it's a laptop. The PC may just be defaulting to the touchpad, and ignoring the USB ports for pointer devices.
