I'm looking for a wired USB keyboard with a usb port on it(that's a requirement), really quiet and soft keys (like high end laptops), hotkeys on the top, like play, pause, previous, next, mute, e-mail, and maybe 1 or 2 for other programs.
Does it exist? The only one that I know of is sitting underneath my hands right now, but it's loud (and it was labeled as a "Dell QuietKey"!) Oh, and a bonus would be a 6ft cable. But I can always get an extension cable. Finally, I am not a gamer, so I have no use for a gaming keyboard, or any keyboards that are excellent for gaming. Thank you, guys. ![]() Last edited by 5CheeseLasagna : 04-14-08 at 10:46 PM. |

I'll vouch for the lycosa, but the g15 is also good. I'd just go to the nearest fry's/circuit city/best buy and test them for yourself to decide.

This is always a good idea for I/O devices that you will be using everyday. Try them in store, buy it there and use it for a few days. if you like it, order one from newegg and return the store bought, and if you don't like it go return it and get another. These stores will take bake open keyboards and mice, hell, they'll take back broken stuff.

The last time I tested keyboards in a store was probably 6 months ago, and none of their wired keyboards were any quieter than what I have now, and my keyboard is quite clicky. This lead me to believe that maybe I can only get quiet wired keyboards online.
Also, I did forget to mention that I am not a gamer, and I also have no use for keyboards that are good gaming keyboards. I apologize for that. I finally added it to my OP. That Tarantula keyboard looks cool, but I'm really picky: I don't like what they did with the 6-pack of keys above the arrow buttons for Insert, Home, Delete, Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down. I like the way they're laid out on most keyboards quite a bit, where there are two straight rows of 3 keys. But I have to admit, the keyboards suggested do look like good keyboards. I just realized I forgot to include my budget. I made this thread too quickly. ![]() I would have to say that I don't think I'd have any use for any keyboards that cost more than like $30-40. |
