Default Questions Webcam

I would like to know how come my webcam that I brought for 35 buck is worse than a webcam that came with my laptop? The picture is less flicker on the lap than my external webcam. I thought built-in webcam would be lower quality since manufacturer would want to lower the price thus installing cheaper, lower quality webcam. The webcam that I bought was a lifecam vx3000. It said it's a 1.3 mp webcam, but how come it said it is only capturing video at 640 x 480? I thought it was suppose to be running at 1.3 mp or is that only for still picture? When I have also check the refresh rate of both webcam and both are running at 60hz so wouldn't the flickering be the same on both webcam?

turn off all of the extra features in the camera properties, that should do the trick. I had to do the same on my logitech cam.

What do you mean by extra features? I don't think I have any enable other than auto adjusting for the brightness, saturation, etc.
