Default G11 vs. G15

I'm thinking of finally getting a decent gaming keyboard, but one that also is completely functional for typing (None of those crazy ones that moves all the keys around) I can't really seem to find anything that seems to compare to the Logitech G11 or G15. Now my question is which of those. I like the 18 G key concept on the G11 but I'm really not sure if I would use them all, but the other advantage is it's a little cheaper. Also, how useful is the LCD on the G15? I can't really decide if I think it will be useful for me or not.
Also, any good gaming keyboards out there that I'm neglecting?

Thanks,
Victor

I love my G15, it too has the 18 G-Keys just like the G11 (Im talking the Rev. 1 G15, not the orange one). I use my LCD Screen to monitor temps of my comp parts. I also use the volume adn play/pause, Stop and skip track buttons listening to music in slower, less skilled games(MMO's).

Ah yea, I had read some reviews of the G15 saying that there were two versions of it and that the new one... left a little to be desired. I might check eBay to see if someone is selling the old version. Music control isn't really a point for me, since I have a second computer with all my music on it that I use to play music, browse, and chat on while I game on the other.

The old (blue) version of the G15 is hands down the best keyboard I have ever used. I use all of the extra buttons every day. I dont even know what I DID before I had my G15. Beat rocks together?

Anyone have any input about the new version of the G15? I would like to be able to get my hands on the old version, but there weren't many on eBay and were all used or broken.

I have the new g15. I think its awesome. I don't really use more than the single row of extra keys, even though i have the option to actually set it up to use 3 times the keys. I like the orange color, as it matches my gen1 g5 laser mouse, and is not super bright so as to blind you when in the dark.
I know the older ones had issues with paint wearing off they keys due to use, but i haven't noticed that with the new one. Also, all the keys are back lit, which aids in the dark. Another neat feature is the disabling of the windows button, which is great for gaming.
I didn't own an older one, but if i lost or broke my g15, I'd be heartbroken.
Also, the LCD does come preconfigured for many applications, and it serves as a performance monitor, as well as a temperature monitor.

Yeh, I love my G15 v2.

Its just the right size, the old G15 is atleast another 5cm in length, not to mention the tacky folding screen.

The V1 does have a bigger screen however the V2' screen has a much high resolution

I've been thinking of getting a different keyboard as well. I'd like to ask though, what do you guys use thes programable keys for? I know that you can use them for macros and such, but I just want specific examples from current users.
