So I brought my rig with me to my grandma's house. She has a hp photosmart p1000 printer. I d/l'ed the drivers from the site (which took forever because she is on dial up), but it's a .part file. How do I use it?

according to FILExt: "In general terms, many download managers will store parts of downloads in a file given the file extension .PART and then combine these when the download is complete. A .PART file by itself is generally of little to no use. You need to wait until the download is complete before opening it"
or at least download the driver via Opera browser. The integraded download manager wont mess with the driver setup file.

Put simple, the part file is the file firefox uses to store the data being downloaded, when completed the part file will vanish and become a real file. If that's not the case, you could try renaming the .part to the correct extension. (zip/rar/exe)

yeah, when you download a file theres the original and a .part which is where the data goes until the download is complete. it sounds like the download wasn't completed maybe? or as said above, rename the .part file to the correct extension
