Default Need New DSL Modem

Seems that my 3 year old Speedstream 5100 Modem decided to die earlier this morning. On dial up right now, and it's a female dog.

Anyway, I talked to AT&T (my dsl providor) and since my modem is out of warrenty, i have to purchase a new one. The one that they want me to upgrade to is a Motorola 2210.

The cost of that modem is about 60 dollars with shipping. I was wondering if there was a better modem out there for that price or cheaper with shipping. If so, and if it would work with my internet provider, I would get it instead, because I have heard some things about the 2210 running very hot, and I don't want that really.

So, I am looking for a similair ADSL modem for 60 bucks or less with shipping that doesn't have crap specs.

Honestly, a modem is a modem. I'd assume that price is about average for a DSL modem, even regular coax modems cost about that much.

Umm...you're in luck? I've got a couple of ATT router/modems, they're bundles, wireless and 4 port router included.

http://store.att.com/Catalog/Product...MRG&show=Specs

if you're interested..make me an offer

I also have a Netopia, same sort of router, but it's more business oriented, so the menus aren't necessarily as friendly, but it's a pretty good router as well.

if you don't have an expensive router, get a 2wire 2701HG... awesome firmware.

I decided to go ahead and buy the one AT&T suggested. I have a very good D-link router
