Default Copperhead and cloth mousepad

Hey, I got my copperhead a while ago and I'm having a problem. I've always used cloth mousepads for everything that I do, but I can't with my copperhead.
Whenever I try, the mouse just completely jumps and skips all around where I'm trying to move it, almost like it's too sensitive. I tried turning down the sensitivity in the razer panel, but it didn't help. The weird thing is, I can move right from the cloth to this hardback book cover and it works perfectly. Does it say somewhere that it's not compatible with cloth? I've tried three mousepads, and even some other surfaces and it does it on all of them besides the book cover. I'm thinking of buying a hard surface mousepad now, probably ratpadz or something. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem?
