Default Mic is really soft in-game

I just got my Asus Xonar D2 installed, plugged my mic and headphones in and people say they can barely hear me in-game. I have used the Microphone Test in the css options and I have to yell to barely hear myself. Everything is enabled that I know of and turned up. What options should i try?

Do you have the +20 or +30dB boost on? That might help, if it's not already enabled.
(Control Panel -> Sound -> Recording Devices, etc)

I don't have the Xonar D2, but I have experience with many of its CM8788 cousins (like the Auzentech X-Meridian). There should be a setting in the Mixer section of the software controls for the card governing Recording devices; one of these will be for the microphone input gain. Increase this setting until you have good levels.

Hope this helps!

Ok it seems that when I was trying to fix it myself earlier I messed something up on the audio part. In-game everything sounds slightly muffled and there is a slight echo for some reason. Any ideas? I have tried changing my effects in the asus program but nothing changes.

Per ****************'s review of the card:

AEC

AEC (acoustic echo cancellation) allows the user to properly configure the microphone. This panel allows the user to cancel echo and adjust microphone volume to properly configure the voice communication setup. Once you enable this setting the Audio Center automatically switches to a 2 speaker, voice processing mode and also suspends any sound effects which save a lot of hassle for that quick VOIP call.

Source of info.

Hope that helps!

Mega!

I hope the Xonar treats you well. I've been pining for that card, if only to see if it's different yet again from the other CMI8788-based cards I have in my stable.
