My brother lives in the guest house of his Fiance's parents home. He does get their signal, but very poorly. Luckily for him, his parents house is hardwired to have Cat5 jacks as well as coax. Can he go from the Cat5 jack to a router or would he have to use a bridge if he wants wireless access?
Thanks. Sorry if this is the wrong place.

if he wants wireless then he can plug in his own wireless router into the cat5 port coming to his room. then configure the wireless ap accordingly.
