Default Odd DVD issue...

OK here's a weird one;

I have built a system (exactly like several dozen others I have built) to run RHEL5. Nothing fancy, dual xeon, 4gb, 8500gt on a supermicro mobo.

I was able to load RHEL5 fine, with no issues from a mondo/mindi restore DVD.

I finish the restore and reboot the system. When the system comes back up, I put in the application disk (the same one I have used dozens of times AND a spare that has never been used). The automounter pops up the icon to the dvdrom on the desktop and it shows as a blank disk!?!?!? I double click that icon and the widnow opens and it shows nothing on the disk... I have tried a couple of the same model (again same model I have used in this exact same build dozens of times), and none of them seem to work. I put in a different model (non writer) and it works fine.

Anyone see this problem before?
