Default Control for power strip

I'd like to be able to turn a power strip on when booting XP and power it off when shutting down. What I'm trying to do is shut down external items like speakers, older printers with manual power switches etc.

Anyone know of such a device?

Thanks...Curt

I saw one once that was connected via USB and got a power signal from that, but don't remember where or how much.
I just reach over and turn it off myself, but I can understand wanting it to be automatic.

Something like THIS?

Yes, yes I do.
In Britain we have these-

Don't know if you can get them in Nebraska though. They are also known as 'Intelliplug'

Long ago, there was a TL-777 switchable 5 plug/switch box. I know, I still have and use one. They were the old putty color and about 2'' H x 1' W x 1' depth and have 6 on off switches on the front, 1 "Master" to turn all other 5 at once or the 5 as you please.
There is no model name on it, just the # TL-777 (TL777 A1)and I've not seen it on the market in many years but the "TL" is Tripp Lite and they no longer make it.
They were very handy when placed between the the desk and old CRT monitors.
Sorry, I know of no other simular device

I forgot to add, it was listed as a "supression switch" or surge supression switch.

Thats the only one I've found that looks practical for home use. It's clearly a bit older, offers control both by computer or dial-in with a phone.

My dad has one of those, and is still using it. Has the little red switches that light up when on?

CoffeJunky

Could, find the product you recommended here. Too bad. Soud like what I'm looking for....

I found one item :
http://theecostrip.com/
but they aren't available yet.

I may have to give the multi-switch power strip some consideration...

Thanks everyone.
