My new Lycosa keyboard arrived today with my OCZ Dominatrix:
__________________![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Next to my old Saitek. I've had this KB for way too long. ![]() This keyboard is pretty darn good looking. The buttons are the slim style and have the rubberized tops. My fingers "grip" the keys well though. The little media center buttons in the top right are more cool to look at than they are functional, at least for me. I rarely ever use my KB to manipulate my sound, etc. My first gripe is the backlight is not bright at all with other lights on in the room. With the back light off, you can barely make out the keys, and I do generally look at the KB when I type. And the angle you look at the keys also determines how well you can see them. It also has a USB port on the back side (which I beleive is USB1.1) and you can route your audio through the Lycosa as well, which is something I'll never do. I don't like how there are two USB cables coming out of it (one for the keyboard itself, the other for the extra port); it just seems to make more clutter. I've managed to hide the cables on my desk fairly well though so it's not a deal breaker. Overall, I like the Lycosa, but I think it's over priced. I paid $66 off Amazon, which isn't terrible, but definitely on the highside. But hey, it's made by Razr, what can ya expect?

I've owned a Lycosa. They have a great feel, better than any keyboard I've ever used. The lighting is a problem when viewing at an angle. I couldn't see the keys at all with the lights off but I never turned them off anyway. Also, the audio port on the back was broken.
Unfortunately I spilled iced tea on it a few months ago and put off cleaning it for a while. By the time I did attempt to clean it, it was too late. It's in pieces right now so if you ever need any spare parts let me know, lol. I've been contemplating buying another one since then but this 10 year old crap stick serves me well enough right now. I've also been contemplating buying a Deck keyboard. Overall I loved the Lycosa, the feel of it is unparalleled by any other keyboard IMO and it is the slickest looking available.

bump old thread
__________________I had to chance to try my friends Razer Tarantula & Lycosa. After using mech boards for about 4 months the Tarantula feels pretty much like the G15, it's rubber domes aren't that bad in fact id say for rubber domes there quite good but in the end there still very mushy compared to mech switches. The Lycosa on the other hand was pure disappointment. I always liked good scissor switch (laptop keys) but the Lycosa just felt awful the keys were mushy as usual but what really did it off for me was that it just felt cheap. The keys wiggled side to side all the time, no tension at all and it felt that the keys could be ripped off if easily. There was no tactile feedback and the clicky was just caused by the key being smashed down on the PCB.
