G15 lcd ribbon cable problem, help please

New to Overclock.net
|
My lcd screen won't come up again due that i opened the g15 because the switch song key got stuck like pressed and i decided to open the g15, when i was opening it the famous ribbon cable from the lcd to the mainboard of the keyboard got cut accidentaly so i dont have screenie now and i dont know what to do

ouch... that sucks. is it a gen 1 or gen 2? if its a gen 2, what you should have done was just rma the keyboard.
lesson learned? you could probably try ebay for a new one.

I've had to take mine apart 2 or 3 times, once for the stuck button, and another because the cable was loose and caused it to artifact, bad. Each time not only did it take an eterinity to get that stupid cable back in, but I was scared to death I was gonna break it. I actually am now missing the pins that keep the LCD hinging at it's best. The small metal hinge now is the only thing holding it in, lol.
As far as to replace your cable... hmm... IDK. You could A. try and find a beat up one or something along those lines off of ebay ultra cheap, or find a nice used one and replace the one you have. BTW a G15 without and LCD is a G11. Well, that is if you have the old(blue) rev. as I do.

You could call logitech. Supposedly they will sell you a ribbon for the new version.

badly i live in uruguay where one of this keyboards costs 150 dollars so i dont think that im gonna get a new one, i will maybe go to the place where i bought it and ask if i can change it i can tell that the ribbon got broken when i closed the lcd screen, they are kind of dumb they dont know that much about this but they maybe give me a replace
