I'm going to say zune, because I just really dislike the popularity of the iPod. But I'm going to give credit to Archos too, my regular MP3 player is an Archos GMini 220 that has lasted nearly 5 years with no issues - The sound quality is great, build quality is very good.

What one were you thinking, the Archos 5.
I must say that looks like a very nice PMP, but it is quite large, it lacks the pocket-ability of the iTouch and Zune. This can be a plus if you will be watching lots of films, but not so good if its primary use is an MP3 player.

Because zunes are a lot better than the icrazy public will lead you to believe.

I have both a zune and ipod touch, and the only reason i picked up the touch is because of the touch screen, web browser, and more space. I fired up my zune the other day to play around with it one last time before i put it in the box to sell, and it was better to use than the touch. The touch is sluggish much of the time, it takes a day to turn on, safari freezes like mad, i get audio corruption every once in a while, and the sound amp pales in comparison to a zune's.

Only thing keeping me on the touch is the web browser, and now the app store. Zune has a better and less buggy GUI/OS, and much better sound quality.

Depending on what you want and would use.. if you simply want an amazing mp3/video player, go with the zune. If you want an mp3/video player with the addition of a touch screen, buggy web browser, and the app store, go with the touch.

I recently switched to the Zune. However, I've never owned an iPod Touch. I always used the nano primarily for working out and jogging.

I absolutely love the Zune interface. I like being able to tag music while listening to FM, wirelessly sync and not worry about the Zune getting scratched up inside my coat pocket.

From my point of view, the only "leg up" the ipod touch has over the Zune is the ability to browse the web.

Well, much of what I said is still true. It is a sizable piece of kit, and as such is in a totally different category to the zune. It seems a solid choice, is not as stylish as the Zune or iTouch, but will be better for film use. It does get good reviews and seems nice. I think I would go for the zune though, its just a shame it doesn't have a web-browser.

I own a Touch, I bought my girlfriend a Zune for Christmas last year.

I love both to be honest, but I bought the Touch for myself because at the time I got a great sale, and I really wanted the wifi.

There's some great features on both, but what I'd ask is how much do you plan on spending? If money isn't an option if I was re-buying I'd go with the Touch again, but if I was trying to save some cash I'd get a Zune. However, I still hate iTunes.
