you aren't really telling us what you want, it's hard to say what i would recommend maybe i stumbled past your budget? If you were really thinking about getting a 8gig touch i would get a 8gig zune, you obviously dont need more then that for your songs/videos. And you said you were looking for games, the games for the itouch besides monkey ball are ****, you will get tired of it in 5 mins. My vote is the zune 8gig and save your cash for something that you wont regret money wise as you already had to sell your old zunes for cash in the first place. (trust me i know how it feels to be hard up for cash) Dont be stupid and pay apple the $300 dollars + $8 per game +apps for that piece of **** tin can sounding MP3 player

I didn't bother to read all the other recommendations, but I got an iPod touch for a couple reasons. I really like the calendar and it will even sync with Outlook. The free apps are great and the interface is very fun. It is my first Apple product and I really like it. I use it just as much for a PDA as a music player.

The wi-fi works very well and I am often getting online to check my emails. I have all four of my addresses on there, 1 yahoo, 2 gmail, 1 exchange. The browser is very good and displays pages very accurately. (I come here and post and you would never know the difference)

I have the 16 gb version. I have all 43 episodes of Wile E Coyote and 4 seasons of The Office on it and that is only 5.34 GB. Also, the amount of video will depend on how you convert it. The less quality, the more you can fit. And since the screen is small compared to your computer, you won't notice at all. You can read PDF's, youtube, facebook, the works.

I recommend it. A good option is to get it through the Apple Refurbs. You can get the 32 for just a little more than the 16 new.

All depends on what you are going to really do with it. Archos is constantly an overlooked company with good stuff, but sadly they never get the size down. I guess you can't get much smaller when your devices does wifi music movies and has as much as 320gb of space along with tons of other features. The new samsung p3 is a nice interesting player with a best in class OLED screen that makes viewing movies really nice. You can even pick up a not much older p2 with the same screen for super cheap now. 130ish for 8gb plus a 50 dollar bluetooth headset would be nice.

How abour iRiver or iAudio (I guess those are cowon america). I have iaudio X5l 30GB hard drive and all i can say is that it is amazing player. audio, video, radio, etc. etc. Bought iRiver flash player for brother and he loves it as well. Both brands have good build quality and reasonable price. Also no need to use any itunes or anything to transfer music or other files.

Great media player.

If you plan on putting tons of movies, i'd tell you to go zune, but if you really want the touch screen and internet browsing, go itouch. However as others have stated, it's gonna drain the battery fast.

I bought a 30gb zune of a member of OCN for my gf a couple months ago and I gotta say it's nice, i put in all my tv shows(dexter and others) and lots of music and videos and there is still space. If you disable the wifi on it, the battery life is great. I'm planning on buying another one for myself but with more space. And if you want some info on adding apps and games for the zune visit zune boards.

I have both a zune and ipod touch, and the only reason i picked up the touch is because of the touch screen, web browser, and more space. I fired up my zune the other day to play around with it one last time before i put it in the box to sell, and it was better to use than the touch. The touch is sluggish much of the time, it takes a day to turn on, safari freezes like mad, i get audio corruption every once in a while, and the sound amp pales in comparison to a zune's.

Only thing keeping me on the touch is the web browser, and now the app store. Zune has a better and less buggy GUI/OS, and much better sound quality.

Depending on what you want and would use.. if you simply want an amazing mp3/video player, go with the zune. If you want an mp3/video player with the addition of a touch screen, buggy web browser, and the app store, go with the touch.
I'm sorry could you repeat that?

I like the zune because of the higher capacity, price, and of course.. No itunes woot!

Also touch screens get all greasy and stratched up very quickly, and the itouch is a bit bulky for me.
