Default [SOLVED]Need help installing MSI STARKEY

Hey guys,

I am thinking about giving Skype a try as they have the ability to call anywhere in Canada and the US for next to nothing.

I don't want to be tethered to my computer with a cable so I figured I would see if I could get my Plantronics Explorer 350 bluetooth headset connected up to my PC so I could us it to talk using Skype.

I have a bluetooth adapter now for my PC however it is old and apparently doesn't work properly in this configuration.

I have been looking at this USB adapter: MSI Starkey from Canada Computer

From what I gather this should do the trick, however I still haven't come across anything concrete that says that it will.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this particular USB adapter running it in the configuration I wish to do? Or if anyone can suggest another USB adapter for a similar price would be great as well

Thank you in advance

Cheers

Well I went out and got the MSI Stay Key 2.0 V2 and already I am beginning to regret it... Either there is something wrong with my dongle or I am retarded because for the life of me I can't get it to install.

Whenever I try to install the device using the drivers from MSI it tells me that there is no bluetooth device detected.. I don't know how that is possible because I have it plugged into my laptop and the light is green.. it makes no sense.

Does anyone have any experience installing this device?

Cheers

Welllll.... after wrestling with this MSI Star Key 2.0 and the widcomm bluetooth software I finally gave up and decided to run what came on the CD with this device....

When I first bought this bluetooth dongle I was reading a bunch of forums that said that the drivers and software that came with this device (blue soleil) was crap and didn't function as it should. So after reading this I decided to go to the manufacturers website and get the software and drivers that they had posted. Nothing on their site worked on any of the 3 machines that I tested it on and I tried multiple different methods to install the widcomm bluetooth stack the software that comes with it. So out of frustration I ran what came in the box and I now have full connectivity between my Plantronics headset and my PC. I have the audio and mic functions being routed through my bluetooth headset and everything seems to be working great...

At the final conclusion of this I feel like a bit of an idiot since I should have just tried what was on the disc in the first place... lesson learned though...

Thank you guys listening haha

If I can help anyone with... don't bother asking me because I honestly don't have the answers haha.. no I am just kidding... I have a few helpful websites that describe how to install the widcomm drivers so if anyone else is having issues please feel free to contact me!

I would write up a little tutorial on exactly what I did to make my bluetooth device work but honestly I didn't do anything special. .. Well actually I did have to change a few things in the windows settings... so since that is the case I will do a little write up on what I did to get it running and post it here for anyone who needs help ...

Thanks again guys

cheers
