Printer connected but doesn't print o.o

I just recently installed Windows 7 on a newly built computer for my parents, and HP got me the right drivers for Windows 7 64 bit and all, but the printer never prints. All the documents just sits in the printer queue of the printer. What could be wrong with it?
__________________Also, I installed a Lexmark Z110 series printer on my desktop, Windows 7 64bit, got it to be detected and all, but still it doesn't print either. Won't even do a test page or nothing.
