Default Quiet Keyboard <$50

Hello guys, currently my Logitech Standard Deluxe clanks too much when I type. I guess that's why it cost $6.99 a year ago. Anyways, I want to upgrade to something that does not clack so much yet can be used for gaming and also not cost too much. The cheaper the better. Any recommendations?

I have this.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16823107120

It makes very low noise compared to the other keyboards I've used.

what you want is a keyboard with scissor switches.

Quote:
Scissor switches are typically used in laptop computers and some other desktop keyboards. These keyboards use a membrane with rubber domes like regular membrane keyboards, but these switches have a scissor-like mechanism that both stabilizes the key and provides a bounce-back feel. The mechanism attaches to a plunger that depress the domes on the membrane, cutting down on the travel distance of a keystroke, so the keys do not need to be pressed down as far. These keyboards are much more durable than normal membrane keyboards, but still not as durable as the mechanical switches. While these keyboards are more expensive than membrane keyboards, they are of much higher quality, but still cheaper than the highest quality mechanical switch keyboards. They do not produce much noise either, and are comparable to the membrane keyboards in this area. They are a great cost-efficient alternative to the mechanical switches.
quieter than plain rubber domes.

Kensington K64365 Slim Type Keyboard

you can hear how the Kensington sounds here.

The only thing that would bug me about that keyboard is how there are buttons right next to the enter button. I may try it and see if I like it.

Type softly and any keyboard can sound quiet.

it takes a couple weeks to acclimate to it.

there is another option

Enermax Caesar and Aurora Models they are a little bit more expensive but they have a L shaped Enter Key and better build materials. 3DGM has a retro review of the Aurora.

the Aurora model in the video review is an older one it must because the Aurora Premium on newegg has a L shaped Enter Key.

nice thing about these keyboards is the brushed aluminum housings go well with a Lian Li case and easy to paint the housings just pop right off.

i'm not sure how a roll out membrane is but it's probably safe to say that is your last option so I would start trying to learn how to touch type.
