Default Help need to upgrade my wireless connection! +REP!

Hi i have been using 2WIRE from att for my dsl. The connection is very week i can't get anything 2 rooms over very weak single. This guy is offering to let me buy his LINKSYS Wireless-G Broadband Router MODEL No. WRT54G. Will this help a lot?

+rep to anyone know any charts i can compare both too or any past experience on this

That's the standard Linksys that tons of people buy. It will handle an entire house, no problem.

I don't think it will help that much, tbh. I would get n N router and an N adapter.

There's no point in that at all. He doesn't need that kind of range, and the added connectivity speed of N is completely lost on DSL, not that it does anything for Cable either.

Didn't know that it was "useless" on DSL tbh.

However, it is the ONLY way I can stream BBC iplayer to my laptop in the back of my house... so it is not useless for cable.

I heard you can also flash the bios of the router to make it work better any idea?

hey i have the same router/modem from 2wire/att for dsl and man this thing sucks so bad! it drops connection literally every 5-9 mins and requires reboot and i only get half the bandwidth wireless as wired. it sucks big time, i have found multiple reviews on this that after one year they die and in between that time period it sucks, now on the other hand i udes to have that same linksys router and its golden, no prob ever full wireless bandwidth and its covered my condo and the 3 next to me as well. go for it you wont be dissapointed!
