[Solved]Need help with linksys WRT54G
I just got it and i am having problems with it. First of all i am getting decent bars on my iphone in the farthest room which upstairs and about 20 feet down.
__________________Anyway i get connection but i can't do anything with it, it wont let me check my email or browse. It is used do i need to reconfigure it or something?

ok i just plugged in the eithernet to my computer and i am not getting internet at all i tried resetting to factory setting but still no luck no internet i can connect to the setup using the ip address but what can i do there?

Try this:
Unplug your modem (assuming it is externally powered) Unplug router Wait about 20 sec. Replug modem and router Reset computer

Thats odd it connects to my steam but i can't surf the net why is that?

I have Time Warner cable as my internet provider. With their cable modem, I can not connect to the internet after connecting a wirless router without first rebooting the modem. So try powering both down, wait to release the IP, then power both up again. See if you can then connect.

Ok tried restarting didn't work my iphone sees it and connects to it but i just can't use the internet. any other ideas?

Also Do i need to turn off my modem wireless for the routher wireless to work or it doesn't matter?

This may be a stupid question since you are posting on the internet right now but does the internet work on your PC when you plug the modem directly to it?
It is only a problem when trying to use the router, right?

ok here is how i have it set up.
__________________I got 2 computer this one connected to my modem. Modem wireless and wired works fine I got my other computer connected to the router and and my iphone is also connected to the router. No connection from both wireless or wired.
