Default How to flash DD-WRT for WRT54G linksys router

Ok thanks to everyone who helped me get my linksys working. Now i just need some help to increase my signal. I was told DD-WRT is a good firmware and my linksys is 3 year old and needs a firmware upgrade.

I went here http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database
and put in my model number but there is like 15 things i can download from i have no idea which one to pick. Anyone know which two i need? i know the first one i need for the first firmware upgrade but which 2nd one do i chose?

And do i just go straight to my linkys page and go through the web? will it erase all my settings?

On the bottom of your router it will say on a sticker "WRT54 G v.X"

It will say a version number, then you go too the corresponding page and get the firmwre, vxkiller etc

This is the one you want if you have v2. But don't flash anything until you thoroughly understand what you are doing. Use there forums to help you.
