Default New Headset

Hey Guys, I'm new here and i just wanted an opinion from you guys on a new headset to get. I'm planning on purchasing it this weekend, but it would be nice to keep it at or under a $50 budget. Thanks in advance.

Will you be listening to music with these headphones (yes I'll be recommending you headphones with a separate mic)? Or will it be strictly for gaming?

It will be used for a little bit of everything: Gaming, Music, Voice Chat. All of the above and more. Preferably it would need to do everything well.

Mostly Rock and some Metal. Oh, by the way USB is preferred but 3.5mil headset and microphone jacks are ok too.

Cyber Snipa Sonar 5.1 or Turtle Beach Earforce HPX/AK-R8 they both have True 5.1 (4 drivers in each cup) the quality of True 5.1 is no where near the quality of Stereo and CMSS-3D but True 5.1 offers superior Audio Positioning where CMSS-3D is close but no cigar.

4 drivers in each cup yes....tiny tiny drivers to fit in each cup yes....lower quality of each sound due to tiny driver yes....

Not the way brother, not the way. And most professionals will disagree with you about CMSS-3D, it's positional audio is exceptional while maintaining all the full bodied sound you deserve.

I have JVC RX700's which for $35 have phenomenal sound quality, and great bass while still hitting the highs. My recommendation.

Oh, and you don't want USB, you just don't.

Get a Zalmann clip on mic for $3-4, best bet.

I own a pair of Sennheiser HD515 which I use for movies and music and the Cyber Snipa Sonar 5.1 which I use for gaming and it's one of the better C-Media implemented USB headsets on the market. they are open back, padding is made out of velour which in my opinion is much more comfortable than leather. the build quality is mediocre. the bass is phenomenal but overall they lack detail but I didn't pay for detail I paid for audio positioning because CMSS-3D emulation cannot substitute for 4 physical drivers no matter what you say.
