Okay, so it seems that my Razer Death Adder has a few abnormalities, for one, whenever it is connected to my computer, it has a tendency to randomly shut off, and it doesn't work until after I move cord that is connected from it...
__________________I don't think my computer has anything to do with it, because all of my 2.0 ports are fine. The mouse shutoff only occurs whenever I move the wire connected to the mouse, whenever it comes to vigorous movements.. so that means whenever I move the mouse around during heavy gaming, it tends to shutoff, and turn back on depending on how I moved the wire. Sometimes, the mouse works even crappier depending on the DPI settings, sometimes I can't even set the mouse to 1,000 DPI without it causing a detection of mouse error, sometimes I even get windows errors that it cannot read the device. The mouse leds always indicate the mouse is having a problem, because whenever the mouse shuts off, the mouse leds turn off and on. I don't know what the particular issue is, but I don't know how to take this mouse apart, and I don't even know why the wire has a problem in the first place, I never cut it, or did any severe damage to it.. The wire itself probably isn't the problem, I believe it has something to do with the wire connection, here is a picture for example.. ![]() If anybody can help, it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I can't really tell from the picture, but is there a small cut about two or three "ribs" in on the cord's flex joint, where it meets the mouse? I'm not familiar with Razers, nor do I own one, so I couldn't tell you about the warranty or replacement information. This is from Bill Owen's forum, showing how to disassemble a G5, I can't imagine that Razer's construction is too dissimilar from Logitech's, a few screws under low-friction contact pads.

Have you tried using different USB ports?

If you've had it for less than 2 years, send it back. It's still under warranty.
Directly contact the person you bought it from and they will provide RMA info

If I took it apart, would that void the warranty? I realized that the issue has to do with the cord.

Well, first try for the RMA and see if you NEED to send the mouse back. Maybe they might just send you a new mouse. If thats the case then happy cutting :P
