Ok well i have a IDE DVD-R drive, my question is would a SATA drive speed up my fps from a DVD at all?
im pretty sure its a 20x, so would this be holding back its read speeds? Im just trying to milk all my performance i can get.

You talking about games right?..Well no i wouldnt think so because the games are installed on your hard drive, the disc just needs to be in the drive to verify you have a genuine copy and stuff.
