Default CM Storm Sentinel mouse

After much deliberation this weekend and speaking to a number of people across different forums, I've decided to replace my DeathAdder with the new Sentinel Cooler Master mouse (my other choice was the G9).

DeathAdder was a great mouse in its right but I had two major beefs with it: (1) the shape was uncomfortable for my specific hand type because it was high arched and not wide and thus my hand (palm area) would drag along the mousepad so to avoid that I would unconsciously pick up the mouse to get it back to a centerered position AND (2) the drivers IMO sucked (switching profiles/sensitivity in a lot of games caused them to flicker or tab out to Windows)

For the Storm owners out there:

Do you tend to set the mouse on a low sensitivity and adjust the DPI settings via the DPI buttons or do you keep it on one say a "gaming" DPI and have multiple sensitivity profiles?

Many reviews said to use Casual Gamer Mode as the other option was TOO sensitive -- any truth to this?

Have there been any improvement to the firmware that was loaded with the mouse?

Thanks in advance

I just read a review on that mouse today. They seemed to like it. Looks like a decent mouse. I also use the deathadder, but I may give the CM a try. I'm curious about it's longevity.

I usually keep mine at 5600 dpi for most fps games, while I usually use 3800 dpi for more casual gaming and web browsing. Check out my review here:

I had a pre-release model which had eventual firmware issues, but CM has it all straightened out now. They sent me the new revision last week.

Good review. Just one question. Hell the hell do you play fps at that dpi?

Make sure all windows-based mouse acceleration is turned off/disabled. Then turn down any in-game sensitivity settings. It is still extremely sensitive and extremely fast, but with a little practice, your accuracy will be top-notch. You will be amazed at just how quickly you can acquire your target and achieve pink mist
