Default Razer Lycosa Lighting Flicker

Is it normal for the Razer Lycosa's backlighting to flicker while booting up. It will flicker during the post message then while loading windows, it usually goes to the setting I left off at. Flicker as in bright keys for 5 seconds then back off. At this point I usually have no control on the lighting of the keyboard. Anyone have this problem? Or maybe its not a problem, dunno but its been bugging me.

Do you mean that when you turn the computer on, the keys will light up, and then turn off when Windows begins loading but then turn back on when Windows is almost done loading? That's what mine does, and I have always assumed that it does this because the motherboard turns the control of the keyboard over to the operating system that it is loading. So then when the motherboard finally loads the Lycosa's driver, the keys turn back on again.

But if yours is behaving differently and resulting in an annoying problem, then perhaps something might be wrong with the keyboard or even the port it's plugged into.

Oh, good. I know what you mean though; when I saw my Lycosa do it for the first time, I went "oh great....". But when it worked just fine, I sat there with a blank look on my face. So then I rebooted to see if it did it again. When it did, I was like "hmm... <long pause + head shake> ok?" lol So, I guess I got used to it and began to assume that it's normal.

So yeah, after seeing it do it for a few months, I now think that it's like the motherboard is turning the control of the keyboard over to the operating system.

I would guess thats the only downside to this keyboard. Because when the lighting is off, can't really see anything.

I guess I never thought of it that way. I mean, the only time I might turn the lighting off is when I am watching a movie.

sounds normal. they should of sub-dye the keycaps a transparent color that way they illuminate the same color as the led and easy to read when non illuminated. hey maybe I should get a job as a Razer Engineer

But the only time it would be practical to have the lighting off is when you're watching a movie or something. And if that's the case, then there's no need to be able to see the keys.

In other words: there's almost never a time when you actually purposely turn the lights off unless you know you're not going to be using the keyboard. This is true for me too even though I do not need to look at the keyboard while typing. I just like how it looks.

Sometimes I and others like having the lights off, say, when playing a video game or just because we don't want the lights on.
At night I keep the lights off unless I need to look around, not only to save electricity but because it keeps the room cooler. Or at least feels that way XD

Ha.
I think Razer needs a bit more then just engineers.

well one things for sure. Razer Deathadder > all. I'd give that mouse 9.5/10 as compared to G15 which would be like an 8/10. Where as the Lycosa and G15, I'd say both 9/10. Hard to say which is better
